GFOA National Scholarships

GFOA of the United States and Canada Advanced Government Finance Institute Scholarship
GFOAz awards two full tuition scholarships to GFOAz Active members to attend the Advanced Government Finance Institute (AGFI) in Madison, Wisconsin. The scholarship covers the enrollment fee for the five-day program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The enrollment fee covers tuition, housing and meals at Institute facilities, the student notebook, and sponsored activities. The scholarship recipient will be responsible for his or her own travel costs.

The Institute’s intensive program is designed especially for state/provincial and local government finance professionals who are at or near the top of their government’s organizational structure. The scholarship provides an opportunity for Arizona finance professionals to attend the Institute and will be awarded to a government finance official who has shown high promise for an outstanding career in public finance. To be eligible, a candidate must 1) currently hold a position in local or state/provincial government finance in Arizona and 2) be an Active participating member of GFOAz.

The intensive program is held every other year. The next program will take place summer 2019. The recipient will be selected by the GFOAz Board of Directors on the basis of demonstrated creativity, dedication to the profession, and level of involvement in GFOAz. We hope you will take advantage of this program and apply to attend this highly exclusive professional development opportunity.
